Stay Well This Winter! Five services to help you stay well
Stay Well This Winter
There are lots of things you can do to stay well this winter and many services that can help you do this – remember the five NHS services that can help you stay well;
- Ask a pharmacist.
- Contact your GP.
- Call the out of hour’s GP service.
- Visit a walk-in centre.
- Call 111.
You can find your nearest health services on the NHS Choices website, using their service search. Click here to visit their website.
Remember, A&E departments are there for life-threatening emergencies and you can often experience long waits if A&E is busy - sometimes you can be treated quicker at another NHS health service if your need is not a life threatening emergency.
NHS 111 is a great service you can use if you’re not sure if your health need is an emergency. Its free, easy and fast. Call 111 and speak to a highly trained adviser, supported by healthcare professionals. They will ask you a series of questions to assess your symptoms and immediately direct you to the best medical care for you. NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Calls are free from landlines and mobile phones.
