At Tower Hamlets CCG we aim to put the voice of local people at the heart of everything we do.
We are constantly seeking to improve services and to make sure that our resources are used in the best possible way to commission safe, effective and high quality healthcare. People's experiences and views, good and bad, help us to understand what we are getting right and where improvements can be made.
We want all of our patients, their families and the wider public to have a genuine influence over how their local health and care services are designed and delivered, and your feedback is essential when making plans for the future.
There are lots of ways that you give us your views and get involved in the work of the CCG, including:
- Attending public meetings, including our Governing Body meetings
- Coming to engagement events and providing your feedback
- Being involved in specific pieces of research, such as surveys and focus groups
These opportunities change over time, some are always open and others are specific pieces of work. You can find out more about the opportunities currently available below.
We are committed to working alongside patients and the public to develop high quality services that best meet the needs of our local communities. You can have a look at our latest report on how we have been involving patients and the public in the work we do at Tower Hamlets CCG. We submitted this report to NHS England last year and received a rating of Good. More information on how we are involving patients and the public in our decision making can be found here.
Promoting patient choice
We are committed to promoting patient choice and raising awareness of patients' legal rights to choice. To learn more about how we promote patient choice and the guiding principles we follow, see the NHS Choice Framework. Our legal duty to promote patient choice and publicise patients' legal rights is publicised in the NHS Constitution.
Tell us your story
One way that you can get involved is by taking part in our ‘Patient Story Programme’ and telling us about an account of an event or episode of care that you’ve experienced. If you would like to tell us your story or find out more.
Joining your local Patient Participation Group
A Patient Participation Group (PPG) is a group of patients linked with a GP practice. PPGs can represent the patients at a practice and provide feedback on the services their practice offers. Find out more.
Take part in the conversation over social media
Social media provides a quick and easy route to ask questions and to find out up-to-date news and information. We often run campaigns where we are asking for your views about new or existing services, or asking for feedback about your experiences. Follow us now on Twitter and get involved in the conversation
Joining the Maternity Voices Partnership
The aim of the Maternity Voices Partnership, previously know as the Maternity Service Liaison Committee, is to improve the quality of maternity services being offered in Tower Hamlets by supporting local mothers to influence policy and practice. They do this by talking to mothers about their experiences of using the maternity services and sharing these experiences to those who provide the service. If you would like to provide feedback and find out more.
Connect with Healthwatch Tower Hamlets
Healthwatch is an independent consumer body which gathers and represents the views of the public who use health and care services. By sharing your experiences and ideas with Healthwatch, you can influence the way services are run. Find out more.
