Mr Sebastian Hendricks
Secondary Care Specialist
Sebastian trained and worked as a paediatrician in Germany before moving to the UK in 1998. Here he gained a further specialist qualification in Audiovestibular medicine as well as his MSc.
He has been a consultant since 2004 and works at three London hospitals in community as well as specialist hospital settings. His workplaces are the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital (UCLH) and Great Ormond Street Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
He has experience in areas of clinical governance, patient experience, appraisal and training, coding and NHS funding of secondary care. He has also worked with NHS Digital and NICE and is part of the clinical user team developing the NHS Healthcare Record Standards.
Sebastian also held several national professional body positions including The British Society of Audiology, the British Association of Audiovestibular Physicians. He is currently the treasurer of the International Association of Physicians in Audiology and a school governor.
His interest in innovation is reflected in his development of a novel computer-based hearing screening of children at primary school age that enables higher quality screening at reduced cost for services.
From 2012 to 2018 was governing body member of NHS Corby Clinical Commissioning Group and Chair the Joint Quality and Performance Committee of NHS Corby and NHS Nene CCG’s.
Sebastian is focused on quality and service improvement that lead to better health outcomes for people. He is looking forward to working with Tower Hamlets CCG, its stakeholders and particularly the secondary care providers.
